About NOR Coffee — the Low Battery Club

NOR Coffee is an independent specialty coffee shop founded in 2025 on Chifeng Street, in Taipei’s Datong District. It is home to the Low Battery Club — a cozy refuge to slow down and recharge — and shares its name with its mascot NOR, a lazy, coffee-loving dog.

Why is NOR Coffee called the Low Battery Club?

NOR Coffee calls itself the Low Battery Club because it is built for people who need to recharge: a small café where you can sit down, slow down and take a real break. In our own words: we don’t just serve coffee. We offer a temporary ceasefire with the clock. Whether you’re down to your last 1%, or just looking for a place to sit where nobody needs anything from you — welcome home.

Plug in, sip down, recharge.

Meet NOR

NOR is our mascot and our name: a lazy, coffee-loving dog who has perfected the art of the nap. NOR sets the pace here — slow — and a big part of why dogs are so welcome here — see the Dog Parking. The shop window says it best: “ALL I NEED IS COFFEE AND MY DOG”.

What does NOR Coffee serve?

Every cup at NOR is made with care. Our signatures are cream-top drinks — peanut butter cream and salted caramel sea-salt cream over an iced Americano or latte. Alongside them: honest classics (Americano, Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino), Australian BONSOY soy milk for a plant-based latte, Shizuoka matcha, and pastries from PETIT SAM LIU. See the full menu.

What is the shop like?

NOR Coffee is a small shop in Lane 53, between Chifeng Street and the Zhongshan Linear Park, with a wooden window counter facing the lane under a green-and-white striped awning. There is a specific kind of magic in the quiet corners of Chifeng Street: the sound of a grinder waking up, the velvet weight of peanut cream meeting espresso, and the soft sigh of a world left at the doorstep. More in the Chifeng Street guide.
